Documents required to obtain China Study Visa

The students who are planning to study in China must first of all select the university. The first research must be about the top universities in China. China is spending US$250 on education in order to make the country top study destination for the international students. In order to study in China, the students have to obtain study visa.  The study visa of china is of two types i.e.

1.       (X1) visa: This is a long-term study visa which is for more than 180 days. This is more common type of visa that students usually require.

2.       (X2) visa: This is for short-term study which is for less than 180 days. The students require X visa if they want to study a short course or internship in China.

Basic Documents:

The basic documents that students would require for the application of visa include:

Original Passport:

The students require an original passport with minimum 6 months validity. There must be 2 blank visa pages and your personal information too. The personal information lies in the first two pages of the passport.

Visa Application Form

A visa application form completed in English or Chinese language is also required. The form must contain a recent colored photograph of the applicant. You will also require a supplementary visa application form if a person traveling with you is also sharing your passport or you are submitting your visa application in any foreign country.

Character Certificate

If you are traveling for the first time to china, then you require a police character certificate or clearance certificate

Additional Documents

If the student is traveling to china on a short visit for the purpose of attending a conference or taking short course etc. then, the following documents are required.

Confirmation and Admission Letter

The student requires an original invitation and a photocopy of the offer of admission, admission notice or a confirmation letter issued by an authorized institute or a school in China. 

Recommendation Letter

A recommendation letter issued by the Local chamber of commerce or a photocopy of the student’s/ applicant’s company’s registration certificate is also required.

Tax Certificate

 The applicant also requires a photocopy of a tax certificate in order to get short term study visa in china.

Bank Statement

The students have to show the proof of his finance in terms of a bank statement in order to get study visa in China. This bank statement is just to demonstrate that the applicant has funds to support himself during his stay in China.

Medical Certificate

The students who are going to stay in China for more than a year then, they need to show a medical certificate demonstrating his good health.

 It is recommended to start the visa process some months before your time of departure because it may take some long time.
