Guide to Latest Oxford Scholarship

There is no student on Earth alive that doesn’t know about world’s greatest and one of the oldest university Oxford. Oxford is an Educational Institute established in 1096 AD and gained rapid fame from 1167 AD. Oxford has always been on top of all Educational Institute all over the world. They have almost every educational course or field of study possible and have a very long list of it. Their real purpose is to spread quality education as much as they can.

They make sure that no deserving and intelligent student is left out. But it is not easy to afford an overseas higher education especially in world’s top university. So, for the sake of deserving and academically-highly able students, they offer more than a 1000 full time scholarships every year. You can be one of them! How you ask? Well, that’s what we are here for. Let me first tell you, how Oxford system works.

What does Scholarship cover?

·         Scholarship covers all courses except Medicine

 Duration: 

  3 or 4 years depending on course length

 Value: 

  Tuition fees and college fees, a grant for living expenses and one return

   air fare per year 

 Number: 

  Around 2-3 awards per year

 

Before you Apply for Oxford:

1.     Browse all Graduate courses of Oxford to see if they offering that particular course you are interested in or you can select a new one. They have plenty of them.

2.    Check their entry requirements for that particular course on their course page

3.    Completely read through that Department’s website

4.    Completely search for the scholarship of that course. Here is a page for Fees, Funding and Scholarship Search. Enter your course and year and it will show you all available scholarships for it.

5.    Check deadlines for admission in that course. It will also be provided in that course’s page. Make sure you submit in advance as soon as possible.

6.    Before you start writing application make sure you have:

a.    Contacted your references whose names you will provide on form. You will need 2 reference and 1 extra who may be contacted later to inquire about your performance.

b.    A debit or credit card with at least 10,000 PKR in it. You will have pay application fee of 75 pounds.

c.    Sent a request to your institute (current/previous) for transcript. Preparation of transcript can take up to weeks.

Colleges of Oxford University:

Whole Oxford University is divided in many College sections. When you apply for a particular course you are actually put in one of these colleges.

Oxford’s colleges and halls are educational communities, where students meet their student fellows from all around the world and fulfil their academic duties. Oxford University has 43 multidisciplinary colleges and halls. 8 of these colleges are specified just for Graduate students.

Scholarship Schemes:

There are many Scholarship schemes available at Oxford. Each scheme provides a number of scholarships for certain courses to students who meet eligibility criteria. Each scheme provides from full scholarship including living expenses to a certain amount of pounds. These schemes are formed like academic communities providing students every facility available. Some schemes require students to submit a separate application or documents. Following are Scholarship Schemes and links to their official website.

How to Apply for Oxford Scholarship:

1.     You first apply online to Oxford University. Here is complete guide on How to apply for Scholarship in UK universities. You apply by filling a UCAS form online and last date to apply for the year 2016 is October 16.

2.    You will have to select one of the colleges of Oxford University as mentioned above.

3.    Check your email to see that you have received a confirmation email that your application has been submitted. If not, log back in to your account to submit it.

4.    After you have applied and been successful in securing a position only then you can file an application for Scholarship.

5.    Applications must be submitted by 12 noon (UK time) on Wednesday 15 February 2017.

·         Oxford 2017 scholarship Form and guidelines have not been published yet. Keep visiting Oxford University’s official website to check.

6.    The selection process will be undertaken in Spring 2017.

7.    You will be informed of the result of your application in May 2017.

8.    Almost every college offers one of many Scholarship Schemes.

·         If you are admitted in a college, make sure they do offer that certain Scholarship you require.

·         If they don’t, and your application is selected for scholarship then you will be transferred to another college of Oxford.
