When it comes to studying abroad, managing living finances and the cost of study can be an extremely arduous task.   1. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)

In order to gain excellence in research and higher learning, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships are offered to welcome bright doctoral students to Canada. The scholarships are for a doctoral degree or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD in health research; natural sciences and/or engineering research; and social sciences and/or humanities research.

Only those doctoral programs are considered eligible that include a research component that leads to the completion of thesis, major research project, dissertation, scholarly publication, performance that is  expert-reviewed at the institutional level as requirement for a completion of the program. In addition to this Joint graduate research programs and clinically-oriented programs including clinical psychology are also eligible.

Through this scholarship $50,000 are offered to students every year for three consecutive years. In order to apply for this scholarship programme you have to be nominated by only one Canadian institute, must be pursuing your very first doctoral degree.

 

  1. Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders

The University of Winnipeg offers the Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders to those international students who are about to start their  Undergraduate, Graduate, Collegiate , PACE or ELP courses at the University for the first time.

Students receive $5,000 under the Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders. In order to be considered eligible for the Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders scholarship program you must have a minimum 80% admission average or equivalent. Must demonstrate leadership qualities, be an international student, starting the first year of any program you are enrolled in.

 

  1. FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship

Everywhere in the world, women are being encouraged and this scholarship program is a strong initiative in order to promote the importance of studies for women. The FINCAD scholarship is offered to those female international students who desire to pursue a graduate degree in the field of finance from any accredited university of Canada. This scholarship is offered to students of any age and citizenship.

Through the scholarship the female students receive award of US$20,000, 50% of this amount is given to the students whereas the other 50% is paid to the educational institution to directly assist with tuition.

 

  1. Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award at University of British Columbia

The Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award at University of British Columbia scholarship is provided to those international students who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme at University of British Columbia. The applicant should exhibit extraordinary leadership qualities as well as demonstrate great academic achievements. The students should have involvement in student affairs and community service.

There is no specified amount that is provided to students. The value of your Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award depends upon your financial needs, which is determined by your tuition fee and living cost.  A standard needs assessment is based on the financial information provided by you and your family.

In order to be considered eligible for the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award at University of British Columbia you must be an international students who holds a Canadian study permit, must be applying for your first undergraduate degree programme at UBC, must meet UBC’s admission requirements, including general and degree-specific requirements and the English Language Admission Standard, must demonstrate a level of financial need.

 

  1. University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship

Students who are starting their Bachelor’s degree at University of Calgary in the Fall term, are offered the University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship. In order to be considered for this scholarship your accomplishments both inside and outside the class, are taken into consideration.

University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is $15,000, and this scholarship can be renewed for the second, third and fourth year of your degree if you achieve GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms.

Students who are not the citizens or permanent residents of Canada are eligible for this scholarship programme, must be a new student at the university who has achieved a minimum GPA of 3.20 previously, and must meet the English Language Requirements of the institute.
