200 Pakistani students to Study for a Semester in US under Global UGRAD program
The global UGRAD program is a scholarship program designed for undergraduate students enrolled in any University of Pakistan. The program is designed to provide Scholarship for one semester in US University or College to outstanding students of a Pakistani University. This exchange program is non-degree program aiming to provide full-time study, cultural exchange, professional education and community service for semester.
The duration of this scholarship program starts in august and end in January. This program is overseen and administered by U.S. Department of States and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). 70 US Universities and Colleges are registered host institutions of global UGRAD program. This scholarship program provides in-state tuition, housing waiver, fee waiver and tuition discount for one semester.
A mechanical student from Gujranwala Pakistan has recently gone to study in Murray State University(USA) for one semester under global UGRAD program. He shared with Murray student journal; “This is a highly-competitive leadership program used to bridge the gap between the people of the United States and Pakistan,” Muhammad said. “I have the tremendous responsibility of exchanging culture with Americans, representing my home country and gaining experiences to benefit me in my future career of mechanical engineering.”

Eligibility Criteria for Pakistani Students in UGRAG program are:
- Pakistani Citizenship
- 25 years or Younger in Age
- Currently enrolled in a college or university and committed to returning to their home universities following the completion of the program.
- Strong leadership qualities and potential in their university and community activities.
- Serious interest in learning about the United States
- High level of academic achievement, as indicated in grades, awards and reference letters
- Proficiency in English
- Students from diverse backgrounds, especially those students who have not previously had opportunities to travel internationally are encouraged to apply
The admissions for UGRAD scholarships start every year in September/October; the submission for forms is accepted online.
