Lahore: A Pakistani girl Nadia Mehr from Pakistan has done her PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in History from University of Kashmir (KU) and set the record that first Pakistani to have completed the PhD from this Srinagar-based university under the SAF (South Asia Foundation) program.
The student Nadia said while talking to a private TV channel that it was the “most memorable part of life to pursue doctorate from Kashmir.”

“I have been here for four years. And the love and care people contributed to me, I can never overlook,” she told.
She added that Visa hurdle should be detached and all Pakistanis should be given consent to visit Kashmir, the paradise of earth.
She also said that it was superb experience to get an education from such a lovely university.
While the KU officials said Nadia pursued the research program vide University Registration No: 52-PhD-2010 from the Institute of Kashmir Studies.
She did her thesis on “The Development of Technology, Science, Arts and Language during the Sultanate Period of Kashmir”, under the supervision of Prof Gulshan Majeed, Institute of Kashmir Studies.
Nadia was awarded the PhD vide notification No: F (PhD– History-(Institute Kashmir Studies)/Sec/KU/2013 dated December 9 2013.
