Purpose of Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to make it easier for high-caliber doctoral candidates from low- and middle-income Commonwealth nations to access UK equipment and expertise, as well as to make a contribution to higher education and research in the UK and the Commonwealth through partnerships and collaborations.

Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship Coverage

The entire fee will be covered

A stipend of £1,236 will be paid to the students each month.

The monthly stipend will be £1,516 if the student's university is in the London Metropolitan area.

A return flight ticket will be given. Approved flights from your home country to the United Kingdom and back after the completion of your scholarship program.

A travel grant for the study will be provided.

Warm clothing allowance will be provided (may vary in different states)

The first child allowance of £529 and the second and third child allowances of £131 per month will be provided to widowed, divorced or single parents.
Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Candidates from commonwealth countries are eligible to apply for the scholarship (Pakistan is a part of commonwealth countries).

At the time of the scholarship's confirmation (September 2023), the applicant must already be enrolled in a PhD program at one of the Commonwealth nations' universities.

A candidate must have completed master’s degree in subjects relevant to your PhD program.

Check to see if there is a connection between your home university and the UK University you are considering. That connection can be an institutional or departmental link between your home university and proposed UK University.

To ensure that your application is eligible, both supervisors must provide a supporting statement that provides additional information about the link. Applications that do not include both statements will be rejected.
Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship Required Documents

A valid passport or national CNIC card with your visible picture.

All previous academic transcripts (translated in English if they are in any other language).

Minimum of two references on institutional letterhead.

One statement of support on institutional letterhead from the current supervisor at the home university

One statement of support from a supervisor in the United Kingdom from at least one of the institutions listed on the application form.
Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship Application Process

Candidates must apply to a university that has a funding agreement with the CSC. The list of part funding universities.

All candidates must register themselves through CSC online registration system.

Incomplete applications will be automatically rejected.

If a candidate fails to submit even one supporting statement from your home university supervisor or UK university supervisor, his application will be directly rejected.
