The biggest college fair is scheduled to be held in Karachi on 7 and 8 October. The hosts of the college fair are 33 representatives of US universities. The college fair is organized under 13th biannual South Asia tour; the purpose of organizing this tour is promotion of higher education of Pakistan. The organizers will guide the attendants regarding numerous courses and method to apply for admissions. Students, parents, academic administrators, university and college officials and counselors are invitees of the fair.
“We are fortunate to have representatives from over thirty three American colleges and universities here today to recruit local students. That’s the largest number of representatives to Pakistan in recent years,” said US Council General JoAnne Wagner informing the press about the tour. “This shows that our colleges realize how many excellent students there are in Pakistan. The institutions represented here also showcase the diversity of American higher education. No matter your interests, you can find a good match among our thousands of excellent colleges and universities,” Wagner further commented.
The representatives visiting Pakistan are from the following US universities and colleges;

United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has made a great effort in development of higher education in Pakistan by inviting these 33 representatives. Students will be encouraged to attend courses and study in USA.
According to HEC press release, earlier this month, on October 8, 2018, a group of 29 universities from US visited HEC Commission Secretariat. The group paid visit to HEC to learn about faculty and research system in Pakistani universities under US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor. The scholarship programmes for PhD students was also discussed. During this meeting, Dr. Tariq Banuri, the Chairman of HEC also emphasized on the need of constant sharing of knowledge and collaboration in academic field between the two countries. The delegation was welcomed and HEC has an aim to provide scholarships to 300 students to study in US universities. The ulterior purpose of US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor establishment was the progress of higher education of Pakistan. Dr. Banuri also informed the US delegation that HEC is looking forward to send more than 10,000 scholars to US in order to pursue PhD in numerous subjects by 2025. This 10-year program will also be part of US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor. Talking about the research journals submitted by Pakistani students and its increase over the years to 15000 annually, DR Baruni explained the US delegation in a statement, "This is the change that used to be unheard of in the past”. These fairs and collaborations are definitely encouraging for Pakistani students who want to study abroad.
