Most of the students in the region of Pakistan and India choose countries only like United States, United Kingdom and Australia because of their lack of knowledge about other study destinations. In addition to mentioned countries, there are many other nations that are home to the best of the institutes and provide real quality education. One of these countries is Singapore. In today’s article, My focus is Singapore as study abroad destination and its top university. There are many great higher educational institutes in Singapore. Among those institutes, one is ranked 11th best university of the world to study in 2018 by QS Ranking. Let’s first get to know a little about Singapore and then discuss about the university.
Republic of Singapore, is also referred to as the Lion City. It is the most Technology-Ready nation. It’s official languages include English, Malay, Huayu, Mandarin and Tamil. More than 75% of the population in Singapore can speak English fluently. It’s a multi-religious country with Buddhist, Christians, Muslims and Taoism comprising most of the population. In the survey of 2013, 67% students said Singapore to be an easy country for student visa. It is currently 4th easiest country for student visa.
Singapore is beautiful Asian country and also a famous study abroad destination as it is home to many of world’s renowned education institutes. In Higher Education System Strength Ranking 2017 by QS, Singapore was ranked 21st best country for higher education. It is ranked among the top five student cities in Asia. Its two most popular universities are National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU). Singapore scores very high when it comes to the standard of living.
Nanyang Technological University
Nanyang Technological University was established in 1981. NTU is consistently ranked amongst the world's best universities. NTU is ranked 1st in Asia, surpassing rival university National University of Singapore for the first time. Its main campus covers over 490 acres of land making it the largest university of campus of Singapore. The luxurious NTU campus is named one of the top 15 most beautiful in the world. NTU has total 3 campuses.

NTU has 21 Halls of Residence for undergraduates and 2 Halls for graduates. They also have the facility of Faculty Housing inside the campus. It is currently home of over 33 thousand students with an academic staff of 5 thousand including faculty and researchers. Its Schools of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Materials Science are ranked 6th and 7th best of the world by QS Ranking. It is very much regarded for its research excellence and technological innovation.

Cost of Studying at NTU
As Nanyang Technological University is one of world’s best higher education institutes, we can’t expect them to go easier on tuition fee charges. Currency of Singapore is Singapore Dollar which is equivalent to about 76 Pakistani rupee and 47 Indian rupee. They also provide grants and scholarships to those eligible students who can’t afford their cost of studying.
