HEC Scholarship 2020: United States – Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Scholarship Application Opens

The Pakistan and United States of America have established a knowledge corridor in the form of HEC scholarship for PhD Pakistani students in 2020.  The applications will be accepted for those Pakistani students who have completed their 16 or 18 years of education.

This HEC scholarship 2020 was created by former president Barack Obama, with the vision for the development of framework of envisioned human resource in Pakistan, the governments since then in United States of America have made cooperation for intensifying this association.

Eligibility criteria for the US – Pakistan knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program 2020

• The candidate must be a Pakistan citizen or from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

• The Pakistani students must have acquired their master’s degree from an HEC recognized Pakistani university.

• The Pakistani student who has completed a 4 year bachelors are eligible for admission in any PhD at the given US universities.

• The Pakistani students should have acquired a good score in GRE and TOEFEL exam according to the requirements of the US Universities.

• Pakistani students who are already selected for admission in PhD in US can also apply for the scholarship program.

• The Pakistani student must not be above 40 years of age if they are a faculty member for rest of the candidates the age limit is 35 years.

• The Pakistani student for HEC PhD scholarship 2020 should not have scored more than 2 second divisions and no third division in their entire academic tenure.

• The Pakistani student should have active participation in the field of research in Pakistani Universities.

• The students should not have scored less than 50 % in any of their examination.

Duration of the Knowledge corridor PhD program 2020

The complete duration of the PhD scholarship id 4 to 5 years.

How to Apply?

In order to apply for the US Pak corridor scholarship 2020 Pakistani student must follow the following procedure –

1. The candidate must register as a new applicant on the following link http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/US-pakcorridor .

2. The candidate must set up their account by means of their CNIC and in use email id.

3. Sign in http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/ and enter the user ID and password.

4. Go to Scholarships and grants.

5. Visit the US Pak knowledge corridor 2020 portal.

Documents required –

1. Passport issued by the government of Pakistan.

2. Attested academic documents.

3. Documents of TOEFEL and GRE test score.

4. Authorization documents allowing the HEC to derive complete knowledge of the Pakistani applicants financial, heath and other matters information.

5. Declaration of assets form by the Pakistani students signed by two witnesses and accepted by the registrar.

6. Deed of undertaking by the Pakistani students accepted by the registrar.

Benefits of the PhD US – Pak Corridor Scholarship for Pakistani Student 2020

• The scholarship provides tuition fee waiver to the Pakistani student and not complete tuition fee.

• The scholarship provides return airfare to the home country of Pakistan to the student after completion of the course.

• All the living expenses of the student are covered by means of a stipend.

• Settlement allowance is also provided to the Pakistani student.

• Complete health insurance of the Pakistani student.
