
Want to help improve the Internet in your community? Check out the Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2025. It’s a six-month program that's fully funded and invites future Internet leaders from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America & the Caribbean to connect with others who are working to make the Internet better and more affordable.
What Is the Peering Fellowship?
The Peering Fellowship, started by the Internet Society, aims to help people in the Internet field improve their skills in areas like peering, interconnection, and Internet policy. By joining, you’ll contribute to improving Internet infrastructure in your area.
You’ll participate in online training sessions and have the opportunity to attend a major peering event around the world.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
If you fit the following criteria, we'd love to hear from you:
- You live in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, or the Asia-Pacific region.
- You have a passport that’s valid until June 2026 to attend our events.
- You’ve got at least 3 years of experience in the Internet industry.
- You can fully commit to a six-month program.
- You’re available for virtual meetings between 11:00 and 15:00 UTC.
- You have a steady internet connection and the necessary devices.
- You can speak and write in English well, as this fellowship will be in English.
- You can dedicate around four hours a week to this six-month experience.
Peering Events
These events bring local peering folks together to tackle challenges, celebrate successes, and network. Each participant attends one event that’s relevant to their region during the fellowship.
For one peering event, you'll get:
- A round-trip flight to the event.
- A hotel stay while you're there.
- A set stipend for any other expenses.
Keep in mind that the Internet Society doesn’t cover visa costs, and travel plans are only available for the scheduled workshop dates.
