The Knight Science Journalism Fellowship 2025 is one of the most prestigious programs in the country and is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Knight Science Journalism Fellowship 2025

Opportunities for involvement exist in seminars, workshops, and lectures across a very broad range of STEM subjects. Opportunities to interact with leading researchers and scientists exist across areas of choice. Others among the fellow candidates are expected to attend several seminars and workshops on fellowship issues.

Applications for the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship 2025 are now open. The fellowship is unusually flexible and will come equipped with a stipend level of $75,000, including research travel funds to pay for all expenses.

 

  • Academic Year Fellowship:About 10-12 fellows participate under its Academic-Year Fellowship program every year at MIT. Fellows are chosen from applicants coming from all parts of the world. They stay at MIT for 9.5 months to discuss science, technology, and journalism.Apart from the Academic-Year Fellowship, there is the Africa and Middle East Fellowship and Sharon Begley Fellowship, but may differ in the number of selections.

Academic-Year Fellowship

Mid-Career Fellowship

  • Duration: 5-6 months; February to July or August to January

Africa and Middle East Fellowship

  • Duration: 9.5 months; from August to May
  • Number of fellows: 2-3
  • Eligibility: For journalists from Africa and Middle East
  • Focus: Understanding of science, technology, journalism along with regional issues.
     

Sharon Begley Fellowship

  • Duration: 9.5 months (from August to May)
  • Number of fellows: 1
  • Eligibility: for any journalist who wishes to spend time on science and public health reporting
  • Focus: exploration into the intersection of science with public health.
