The world has been fighting Covid-19 successfully, and vaccination rollouts have aided in the management of this pandemic. With so much optimism in the air, prospective international students are expecting that the international education sector will revive. This means they can get started on their study abroad plans right away.
Studying abroad may be an extremely nerve-wracking experience. It's impossible to just think about it and book a flight the next day. This major decision takes much planning, including deciding which countries to study in, the financial implications (would it be cheap or expensive), and, most crucially, which city to choose. Majority of the students already have a favorite city in their mind, a city they dreamt to live and study in, but they also keep their options open in case they are denied admission to any of the city's colleges.
Thus to guide students in this regard QS has released its ranking of the best cities for international students. London has been ranked the as the best city for prospective international students followed by cities like Munich, Seoul, Tokyo and Berlin.

London the best City for International Students
London is a perpetual favorite of international students, mainly because of the work opportunities in London as well as the study and living facilities it offers to international students. Although it is a bit expensive when it comes to residency, but the city has managed to garner great interest of international students despite that.
According to new data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the total number of international students studying in London in 2018-2019 was 125,035, which shows a 5.8% increase from the academic year 2017-2018. Due to the fatal virus, which compelled the government to close its borders to international students, the number plummeted in 2020.
QS Director of Research Ben Sowter stated that, “Responses to our surveys from students that have actually studied in London make it clear that the city still offers outstanding cultural, economic, and educational opportunities.”
While Highlighting about the effects of pandemic and Brexit he said that, ““With two of the world’s 10 best universities situated in the city, it remains a world-leading educational hub. However, exponentially-increasing COVID cases and lingering Brexit effects may serve to undermine London’s privileged position.”
