MBZUAI Scholarships in UAE 2025 for MS & PhD

Apply if you have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any closely related field!

The MBZUAI is inviting applications for the Master’s and PhD program in Artificial Intelligence Specializations and will provide full-funded scholarships to the International students. The purpose of scholarship is to sustain a AI-based economy by attracting international talents. University will provide training facilities, collaboration opportunities, research funding and required skill sets so that students can be part of international leaders and innovators. This scholarship is highly prestigious and will train you for future AI technologies. 

As the world is evolving continuously, and thus making a decision to choose a right major is critical to sustain in the workforce and in learning updated in-depth knowledge of the advanced fields. 

Fields of Study

As the program is AI-oriented, and thus Master’s and PhD are offered in 

Machine Learning,

Computer Vision, 

Natural Language Processing, 

Robotics and 

Computer Science.

Benefit

No Tuition fee during the whole program of MPhil and PhD. 

Accommodation will be provided by the university.

Medical allowance

UAE visa will be sponsored by the MBZUAI scholarship for the International Applicants.

International students will also receive monthly allowance as

• MSc: AED 8,000

• PhD: AED 10,000 

University also supports financially to the married PhD students with additional AED 5,000 as housing allowance to reside off-campus during the degree program and official document is required for this. 

Eligibility

Degree requirement includes

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or any relevant major. Both Bachelor's & Master's degrees for PhD application. 

• Minimum Required CGPA in the previous degree is 3.2/4 or equivalent. 

Language Requirement demands Academic IELTS with minimum 6.5 overall score/ TOEFT iBT with at least 90 score/EmSAT English with at least 1550 score. 

Application Procedure

Online application will be accepted through the official portal. Required documents are as follows:

• Students must have to submit attested degrees and transcripts. Recently graduates may apply with a degree completion certificate and academic transcript. However, submission of attested degrees and transcript is mandatory in the first semester after joining the university.

• A detailed CV highlighting past experiences and achievements.

• English Proficiency Evidence 

• GRE (optional)

• Statement of Purpose (SOP), it can determine your acceptance if you fulfil other admission requirements. SOP must clearly state your purpose and motivation of joining the university, past experiences and academic goals that make you a perfect candidate for the chosen program, relevant field experience, future goals and other details that can benefit you in securing admission. Almost 1000 words SOP is required. 

• Reference Letters (2 for MS & 3 for PhD)

• A headshot photo with white background

• An Entrance Exam (optional) containing assessment questions regarding Mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory), Programming (algorithms, OOP, data structures, logic and Python understanding), Specialized questions for CS candidates (computation, computer architecture, databases and operating systems etc.) Completing an entrance exam is recommended and it is optional. Further exam instructions can be checked through Online Screening.  

• Interview with faculty members. 

Research Proposal should clearly state a research gap which you wish to fulfil during the degree program in reference with the previous research and literature and precisely indicate Title, Problem Statement, Proposed Methodology, your Study plan with timeline, and References. There is no requirement to contact the potential supervisor in advance. 

Applications will start soon at 1st October 2024 and in the meantime, you can prepare documents and take MOOCs  regarding Python, Machine learning, Statistics etc. recommended by the university.
