
Applications for the RIKEN IMS Internship Program in Japan 2025 are now open to excellent students and fellows from across the world. During this sponsored internship, young international scientists and researchers will conduct integrated medical science research in IMS facilities. The mission of the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences is to develop breakthrough medical science that will significantly impact the future of human health.
IMS employs multidisciplinary research to create a new study area called integrative medical sciences, which covers immunology and physiology, bioinformatics, genome-wide medical science, and molecular, biochemical, and quantitative sciences.

Scholarship Benefits
- The IMS Internship program is open to both graduates and postdoctoral researchers.

The program is divided into two assistance areas.
- Category 1 is for students and includes travel expenses, lodging, and a 3000 yen allowance each working day.
- Category 2 is for young postdoctoral fellows and will cover travel and housing costs. It will not include a daily allotment.
- Applicants will be able to select their own host laboratory.
- Applicants will have the opportunity to conduct research in cutting-edge Japanese research laboratories.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates in Category 1 must be students pursuing a Master's or PhD program, or medical students at a level equal to a Master's in Japan.
- Candidates for Category 2 must be young postdoctoral fellows who have completed their PhD degree within three years.
- Applicants in Category 2 must be enrolled in an academic university or institution throughout the internship time.
- Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be accepted.

- The applicant's supervisor must write a reference letter and send it directly to the host team leader.
