Staying Safe While Studying Abroad

Once you have planned to study abroad for your brighter future besides many other things to ponder about you must learn some tips on being safe while studying abroad.  Safety comes first before anything and being secure gives you the peace of mind and relaxation so that you are able to concentrate on the goal you are going to achieve. Here are some basic tips discuss below that may help the students to remain secure during their stay.

Avoid strangers

While you go in any part of the world the tourist and foreigners are always vulnerable and prone to get a victim of crime. So in order to avoid such situation never rely on the strangers and walk with them even in the case they are showing you the way you want to go. Don’t trust any person while you are at the bus top or station nor accept any drink or food from the strangers as they may have put some drugs in it and rob you while you are sleeping.

Avoid walking alone or opting new way

Check for the map and the routes for the public transports so that you may not get lost. Avoid walking alone at night and in the narrow or poorly lit streets. If lost try to ask the way from the person in authority if possible to avoid any kind of mishap.

Beware of pick pockets

While traveling in a bus or in the crowdy area never put your wallet in your pants back pocket. If you are confronted by a thief, never retaliate with them and give away what they demand for as the money and things are not valuable as much as your life is.

Keep ID card and map

Make a habit of keeping your ID card, the local guide map and the emergency telephone numbers with you whenever you are travelling either to your college or even going for some shopping.

Careful while travelling by public transport

Travelling in a public transport is challenging for you so in order to avoid any unhappy situation you must:

·         learn the bus routes and you should be knowing the rules of the road and

·         Sit in a taxi that has clearly identified official markings.

·         Never sit in the taxi in which someone is already sitting on the back seat.

·         Never put your luggage in the cab before you, the driver may get away with your stuff.

·         Try to get familiar with the routes so that the driver may not take you to the routes which are longest and expensive.

·         Try to tie down your luggage and strap your valuables while travelling at night in the train.

Safety tips for female students

Security is must for both male and female but females are more prone to get victimized so they need an extra care. Female students should not be wearing provocative clothing and flashy jewelry. Be confident in your gate and never allow the people that you may not know properly to enter in your house. If you feel something abnormal get help from a person in authority.
