In order to facilitate international students, United Kingdoms has officially launched its Post Study Work Visa Route on 1st July 2021. Students coming from many different countries will be able to benefit from this program. Students will be able to apply for a stay and a job experience through this program after the completion of their academic degree.
The Post Study Work Visa Route was announced in 2020 by the Home Secretary of UK, Priti Patel. While briefing about the Graduate Visa Route Priti Patel said that, “As we build back better, it is vital that the UK continues to be a beacon for talented young people across the globe who want to make a difference. The new Graduate route does just that, giving the best and brightest graduates the opportunity to continue contributing to the UK's prosperity and the freedom to kickstart their careers in the UK.”
While discussing how this initiative will assist international students, Universities Minister Michelle Donelan stated that, “International students are a vital part of our society, and those who graduate from our world-leading universities should have the opportunity to stay and build meaningful careers here in the UK.”
She further added that, “That is why we are introducing this new post study work route for international graduates, enabling British businesses to attract and retain some of the brightest, most talented graduates across the globe, and helping this nation build back better from the pandemic.”
How to apply for the Post Study Work Visa Route
This is a global campaign to increase employability opportunities for international students studying in United Kingdoms. In order to be eligible for this post study work route you must have completed a course from a well-known institute of United Kingdoms, along with the track record of compliance with the government's immigration requirements. You do not need a job offer in order to apply for this program, you can simply use a period of two years to stay in UK and apply for a Job. Under this program, international graduates will have a full liberty to change their jobs if they want to, and advance their careers as they see fit.
Applicants who commenced their studies in Fall 2020 or in Spring 2021 are required to be present in UK by 27 September 2021, and those who will be starting their courses in late 2021 or early 2022 are required to be present in UK by April 6th, 2022.
