What is PTE?

PTE Academic

The Pearson Test of English Academic:

PTE Academic is a computer-based academic English language test aimed at non-native English speakers wanting to study abroad.

Questions often test 2 skills together, such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. The whole test is done in a single session, lasting 3 hours and is taken sitting at a computer in a secure test environment. The speaking part of the exam is done at the computer. Your voice is recorded and sent for marking.

The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is the English test trusted by universities, colleges and governments around the world.

PTE for Immigration:

PTE has been used to prove English proficiency for immigration in Australia for the past five years. However, the Department of Immigration & Border Protection (DIBP) now accepts PTE Academic for temporary graduate, skilled, work and holiday, and former resident visa programmes as well. PTE is also acceptable in UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and many other countries.
