Eligibility

• The candidates must hail from a country that has been in diplomatic relations with Japan.
• For the intake 2025 applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1990. That means their age must not exceed 34 years.
• The applicants must make travels and hence must be capable of reaching Japan during their semesters
• All candidates must be accompanied by the names of two recommenders as a prerequisite.
• Applicants who have sound academic records for their bachelor degree or Master's can apply for master's or doctoral degrees.
• Eligible applicants shall be with good mental and sound physical health.
• Applicants must provide English language proficiency certificate equivalent or like (IELTS or such scores).
• Applicants should have the potential to achieve the goal of the research within the given time frame.

Verification of Eligibility

Ensure you qualify regarding the minimum age, education, language, or health and medical requirement.

Choose Course

Choose one master's or doctorate course that you will be applying for in the graduate school at the Yokohama National University.

Gather Documents for Application

• Application form: get one from the university website or print one out from the link

• Statement of purpose: draft your study plan and research proposal

Application Submission

The Application for admission to school through the YNU Web Application System should reach no later than December 12, 2024.

Application Fee

• Approximate ¥5,000 application fee in the form of credit card or bank transfer.
• Wait for late December 2024 to hear the results of the screening process.
• There will be entrance exams if necessary in late January or early February 2025.
• Wait until the Final Results are out The final results would be available towards the end of March 2025. 
• Once accepted, one would join Yokohama National University in October 2025.
