Role and Responsibilities
Conduct research and development in state-of-the-art computer vision (object detection, key point detection and video classification techniques) applied to industrial data.
Collaborate with a team of experts from the academic and industrial sectors.
Implement and test algorithms for real-time process monitoring.
Document and present research findings and developments.
This MASc position focuses on developing innovative solutions for remote monitoring of industrial processes using state-of-the-art computer vision and deep learning methods,
Required skills
Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Computer/Software/Industrial)
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (preferably PyTorch).
Strong foundation in computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning,
Experience with object detection or video classification techniques.

The skills listed are not required, but are indicators that you are a good fit for the Program:
Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline such as physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or economics
Experience with analyzing datasets
Knowledge of linear algebra, probability, and statistics
Thorough knowledge of Python programming
Experience in other programming languages such as R, C++, Java, etc.
Experience with Discrete Optimization
Relevant work experience in financial management, banking, quantitative trading, algorithmic trading, data analytics, etc.
Minh Ly Scholarship for International Students
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with preference for students with demonstrated financial need. Further preference is for students whose thesis/research is focused in Computer Aided Design.
Approval of the recipients will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
