Be new to UBC, entering directly from secondary school.
Be an international student who will be studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes to your citizenship status will affect your IMES eligibility.)
Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and intellectual promise, as well as impressive extracurricular and community involvement.
Not be nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars award.
Minh Ly Scholarship for International Students
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with preference for students with demonstrated financial need.
Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student.
Minh Ly Scholarship for International Students
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with preference for students with demonstrated financial need. Further preference is for students whose thesis/research is focused in Computer Aided Design

Approval of the recipients will be made by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
