This Scholarship in Canada is open to international students from all around the world. The York University International Scholarships are available to start academic studies in Fall 2025. Leadership and Achievement: Must have demonstrated leadership through community service or excellence in arts, sports, or other individual achievements (where applicable).

Supporting Documents: Must upload a letter of recommendation and other supporting documents as required.

Apply to York: Have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York University that starts in the Fall 2025 term.

Complete the Scholarship Application: Fill out the International Student Scholarship & Award Application form online.

Obtain York Reference Number: You’ll need a 9-digit York reference number, which you’ll receive within 5 business days of applying to York.

Admission requirements

Requirements for admission vary depending on where you attended high school, which UBC campus you hope to attend, and which degree you’re applying to. If you’re a mature student or have already completed some post-secondary education, you’ll have your own set of specific requirements.

International Baccalaureate students

If you are pursuing the International Baccalaureate diploma, you have your own set of general admissions and degree-specific requirements.

Eligibility

Be new to UBC, entering directly from secondary school.

Be an international student who will be studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes to your citizenship status will affect your IMES eligibility.)

Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and intellectual promise, as well as impressive extracurricular and community involvement.

Not be nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars award.

Minh Ly Scholarship for International Students

One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with preference for students with demonstrated financial need. 

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Unless otherwise noted in the award description, you must be a full-time graduate student. 

Minh Ly Scholarship for International Students

One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding international graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with preference for students with demonstrated financial need.  Further preference is for students whose thesis/research is focused in Computer Aided Design

Normally, the minimum requirement for consideration is an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units.
