Hasselt University is starting a great initiative to support PhD level studies of dynamic students in Belgium. It has established the BOF Doctoral International Scholarships for the academic year 2023-2024.

: Students from Belgium and other foreign countries can both apply.

The students can apply for a doctoral study programme at Hasselt University.
Criteria:
The applicants must submit their applications in English.
The candidates selected by Hasselt University can expect to receive funding for starting personal mandates with a PhD finality for promising candidates PhD’s at the start of a doctoral trajectory.

Full-time position as a doctoral fellow for up to 48 months, starting October 1, 2024.
Fellowship amount equivalent to 100% of the net salary of an AAP member, determined by family status and seniority.

PhD degree in Microbiology, Entomology, Vector Biology, or related field in IMT.

Eligibility Criteria:
The applicants must come from a background in International Relations, EU studies, Surveillance Studies, Science and Technology Studies, Media Studies, Design or other relevant disciplines.
The applicants must have a strong interest for European security and border policies and the relation between technologies of surveillance and fundamental rights.
The applicants must have experience with qualitative methods.
