CEU Doctoral Scholarships for International Students Hungary

Károli Gáspár University

The university aims to raise the status of not just the Church but also the nation with the help of its educational, teaching, and academic work.

Eligibility Criteria: 

The applicants must be full-age citizens who are at least 18 years old but not older than 30 years by the time their education starts at Károli Gáspár University.

The applicants must have a recommendation signed by a church representative from an eligible church.

Evidence of formal qualifications

Internationally accepted English language certificate

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Hungarian Government

The PhD scholarship is open for international students to study in Hungary. The scholarship program offers both full-degree and partial-study opportunities. The duration of doctoral programs is eight semesters divided into two different phases.

Eligible Countries:

All nationalities. 

Acceptable Course or Subjects:

The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the university

Admissible Criteria: 

Doctoral applicants are also required to contact their chosen Host Institutions and doctoral schools in advance to discuss the available research topics in the institution and the possible supervisors for those topics.

All students applying for a doctoral program must have a supervisor at their selected Host University.

Application Deadline: 16 January 2023.

Central European University

Acceptable Course or Subjects:

The scholarship program will be awarded for Ph.D. in any subject offered by the university.

In exceptional cases, the Department of Cognitive Science will also consider candidates who only hold a bachelor’s degree, provided it is in a discipline closely associated with cognitive science.

Students enrolled in a doctoral program at CEU must not be simultaneously enrolled in other higher education institutions. They must sign a declaration to this effect at the beginning of their studies at CEU.

The scholarship program will be awarded for Ph.D. in any subject offered by the university.

 Criteria: 

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a master’s degree or equivalent in a related field from a recognized university or higher education or provide documentation indicating that they will earn such a degree before enrolling in a CEU doctoral course of study. Those students holding a five-year master’s degree are not required to have a bachelor’s.
