The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA), established in 2012, is an organization with a mission to educate and train the next generation of researchers in diabetes and endocrinology. The organization was established with a 5-year grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Students can apply for a PhD study in any research field within diabetes, metabolism or endocrinology at DDEA.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicants are required to submit their application in the English language.
The applicants must have a co-supervisor from a private life sciences company affiliated with the project.
The applicants must have a principal supervisor associated with a Danish university.

Criteria:
Hold a Master’s degree corresponding to the 3 + 2 Bologna process
Have a minimum weighted grade point average of 8.2 on the Danish 7-point grading scale for the bachelor’s and master’s degree combined (or equivalent)
Demonstrate proficiency in academic English at a very high level
Have an educational background in political economy, political science, or a related field
Meet additional criteria outlined in the application guidelines.
The application
The research proposal is considered the backbone of the application and should be very carefully prepared by the applicant. It may not exceed five pages and should include the following:
A brief explanation of the aims of the project
An outline of relevant research questions
A positioning of the project in an appropriate research field
A description of the research literature within that field
An outline/explanation of the theories to be included
