Programme Description
The International Excellence Scholarship Programme (IES) is a scholarship programme that enables ambitious students of all fields of study from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia with above-average grades to spend a semester abroad in Berlin.
This programme gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge at the best German universities (HU Berlin, FU Berlin, HWR Berlin, University of Potsdam).
Programme Description
The International Excellence Scholarship Programme (IES) is a scholarship programme that enables ambitious students of all fields of study from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia with above-average grades to spend a semester abroad in Berlin.
Scholarship Value
Under the IES programme, Copernicus Berlin offers 3 types of scholarships.
1) The full scholarship will cover the following costs of the programme participants:
They will receive monthly pocket money.
Health insurance costs will be reimbursed.
The costs for accommodation, enrolment, liability insurance, educational trips, social meetings, administration, welcome package, cultural events, international seminars, consulting and mentoring and workshops are covered by Copernicus Berlin.
Full Scholarship:
Covers monthly pocket money, health insurance, accommodation, enrolment fees, liability insurance, educational trips, social events, and cultural activities.
Partial Scholarship PLUS:
Similar to the full scholarship but requires participants to cover their own travel and health insurance costs.
Partial Scholarship:
Covers all costs except for 2 months of accommodation (1,650 EUR), travel, and health insurance, which must be paid by the participants.
Benefits
Basic monthly scholarship of €1350.
Monthly family allowance of €100 per child if applicable.
Separate grants for additional material resources, travel, and stays abroad (up to €1500 during the standard funding period).
Application Deadlines:
Submit both applications by the deadline of 30 July in the year you are applying.
Scholarships are regularly awarded on 1 October of each year.

Candidate Profile:
MSc in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or molecular medicine
experience in cell culture, molecular/biochemical techniques and/or zebrafish work is highly desirable
a strong interest in translational research in the fields of genetics.

PhD or at least a Master's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, or similar fields
Expertise in data analysis with statistical packages (e.g., R , SPSS)

Capability of literature search and synthesis
