What Is the ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship?

The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) is an initiative of ETH Zurich to attract extremely outstanding students from all over the world. It offers comprehensive financial assistance to students seeking Master's degrees at the university, covering both tuition and living expenses during their studies.
The fellowship is intended to remove financial hurdles that may prevent promising students from attending ETH Zurich, allowing them to immerse themselves in world-class education, research, and academic development.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the ESOP must meet the following requirements:

• Have a great academic record, usually in the top 10% of their Bachelor's program (Grade A equivalent).
• Apply for a new Master's degree program at ETH Zurich.
• Submit a comprehensive and competitive application, including a compelling master's thesis pre-proposal.
• Be available for a prospective interview in February (selected candidates will be contacted).
