These prestigious top up scholarships are available to help support Thai-born graduate research students with living costs. The John Bush Memorial Top-Up Scholarships are awarded in addition to a Monash centrally allocated scholarship such as a Monash Graduate Scholarship.
Description
An annual travel award is open for tertiary women seeking to attend a conference or seminar, either face to face or online, which will broaden the applicants' knowledge of their chosen field of study.
Benefits
The Travel Award will be of a monetary sum of up to $1,000, awarded by 1 September 2024. The winner will also receive a one-year membership to Soroptimist International Adelaide Inc.
Eligible:
Be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (this includes honours) as an active student in a Commonwealth Supported Place.
Be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, a permanent Australian resident or a student with an Australian permanent visa.
Be enrolled in a compulsory Intensive School and have received their confirmation details (a screenshot of confirmation in Interact2 is required, and must contain the enrolled subject, session, location and dates - see Guidelines tab for a picture reference)
Be submitting an application prior to the completion date of the intensive school period or within 2 months of completion.
About this scholarship
These scholarships include a living stipend to support you as you complete a research project for your Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy or a research-focused professional doctorate at UQ.
Scholarship value
Living stipend of $35,000 per annum tax free (2024 rate), indexed annually, Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Scholarship duration
3.5 years with the possibility of 1 extension in line with UQ and RTP Scholarship Policy
Selection criteria
We'll consider:
Demonstrated financial need
Strength of personal statement
Academic capability as demonstrated by overall academic performance in either high school or tertiary study to date
Any other evidence that the selection committee may deem relevant to the your future success in their field.
Where all other considerations are equal, preference will be given to eligible students that identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons.
