Call for applications to doctoral programs 2024B in UST-KASI
Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) School via the University of Science and Technology (UST) is offering doctoral (direct and integrated) scholarships starting from September 2024. PhD scholarships are provided with a competitive salary of about $1600 per month for the doctoral program. KASI is located in Daejeon, a high tech, educational and research oriented city. Convenient accommodation would be provided to students for the first 3 years in the campus.
KASI is actively involved in various fields of astronomy and astrophysics, from astronomical instrumentation to observation and theory, and participates in international collaborative and stand-alone projects including GMT, ALMA, SDSS4, DESI, LSST, KMTNet, and KVN.
Duration of Program
Associate Degree: 1 year of the Korean language program, 2~3 years of the degree program
Undergraduate Degree: 1 year of the Korean language program, 4~6 years of the degree program
Eligibility Criteria for the GKS Undergraduate Scholarship 2024
Citizens of all countries can apply except Korean citizens.
Applicants who have a bachelor‟s degree cannot apply.
Applicants who have associate degrees can only apply to a bachelor’s program.
The scholarship is a meritorious opportunity offered exclusively to new undergraduate students from international countries at the Seoul National University.

GIST
The GIST scholars are equipped with world-class knowledge and skills regarding science and technology through research-oriented projects and courses. Furthermore, GIST’s fully-funded scholarship is a project of the university with the South Korean Ministry of Science and Technology.
Benefits of the GIST Scholarship in South Korea:
PhD students will be given a monthly stipend of 295,000 Won.
Both MS and PhD students will be given a meal allowance of 100,000 Won. (Note: Students have to complete at least 9 credits in the previous semester in order to get student and meal allowance).
An international student allowance of 120,000 Won will be given to both MS and PhD students, however, the student has to maintain a 3 or higher GPA out of 4.5 in the previous semester.
Eligibility Criteria of the GIST Scholarship 2023 in South Korea:
The applicant must or expect to hold a final degree before enrollment at GIST.
The applicant’s bachelor’s degree must be equivalent to a Korean bachelor’s degree.
The applicant must be an international student.
The applicant must be proficient in the English language.
