The Centre will not only produce a workforce that meets future skills demands but will also develop sustainable and cost-effective mining equipment and high efficiency mining technologies to benefit the nation’s manufacturing and mining sectors.
The Centre will conduct its industry focused research projects across four programs that are specialised in innovative composites and mining equipment as well as incorporating work-integrated learning into PhD training.
These programs are:
Innovation in material design fabrication and evaluation of performance (program one),
Advanced simulation and manufacturing innovation (program two),
Artificial intelligence based and data driven solution for mining equipment solution (program three) and
Safety, maintainability, and reliability of mining equipment (program four).

Eligibility requirements
Applicants must have completed an Australian university recognised master's by research or bachelor honours degree with first class or second class / division 1 honours, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate research studies.
Applicants must also meet the English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications set by the participating organisations. Each university may have slightly varied English proficiency requirements for PhD candidates.
Essential requirements:
Highly motivated, with a strong interest in talent identification and development, skill acquisition, and coaching science.
An exercise and sport science, psychology, or clinical exercise physiology background.
Desirable skills:
Experience working with athletes in talent development of skill acquisition.
Experience in writing publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Experience with testing (including relevant technologies) youth athletes for talent identification and development programs.
Benefits
Stipend of £15,000 per annum for 3.5 years.
Full tuition fee waiver at both universities.
Travel support package, including one return economy airfare to Deakin University for the residency period in Australia.
Coverage of student visa and health insurance costs for the residency period at Deakin University.

The scholarship offers a comprehensive funding package, including a living allowance of $32,192 per annum, indexed annually.
For a PhD candidate, the living allowance scholarship is for 3.5 years, and the tuition fee scholarship is for 4 years. Additionally, scholarships include up to $1,500 relocation allowance and Overseas Student Health Cover at single rate for international candidates.
Selection criteria
Preference is given to Art History students in the Faculty of Arts, and due consideration is given to financial disadvantage. The recipient will be determined after considering the applicants' scholarship statement, proposed program of study, and access to other financial resources.
Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
Be an honours student majoring in Art History in the Faculty of Arts; or,
Be a graduate coursework or research student undertaking Art History studies in the Faculty of Arts; and,
Be experiencing financial disadvantage.
