Your role in the project involves participating in data collection and analysis. You will also contribute to academic publications through literature reviews and in article writing. Benefits
The position is part of the EU-financed project “Bryomolecules,” focusing on systematic bioprospecting of European bryophyte species for biologically active compounds.
The project work includes field collection of bryophytes, curation of axenic bryophyte cultures, experimental work with bioreactors, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), DNA/RNA extractions, RNA library preparations, and bioinformatic processing of next-generation sequence data.
The overall goals are to optimize the production of secondary substances for industrial purposes and to better understand the biological role of bryophyte secondary substances in natural habitats.
