You must meet the minimum requirements in all subjects, even after receiving an admission offer, in order to remain admissible. (See your admission offer letter for more details.)
Criteria:
The minimum admission average for admission to the University of Alberta varies depending on the Faculty and program of your choice. Every year, the averages change.
English, Group A (Humanities/Social Sciences), Group B (Fine Arts), and Group C are the subject groups (Mathematics and Sciences). Each program will have a unique set of required courses.
To submit your application, you must pay either a CAD $125 application fee (for new applicants to the University of Alberta) or a CAD $75 application fee (for current or previous University of Alberta students). This is a non-refundable application fee.

Students with a superior admission average and self-declared financial need who are Chinese or Hong Kong citizens entering their first year of an undergraduate degree on a Student Visa Permit could receive up to $100,000. (payable over 4 years). No application is required for admission-based scholarships!

The successful candidate must hold a university degree (master's or equivalent above average) that permits access to doctoral studies.
Language Requirement:
The students must submit scores on the following English language proficiency tests:
Complete an English Language Proficiency test and achieve the minimum score required by the University of Alberta;
Completing certain UAlberta-approved courses and achieving a certain minimum grade in those courses;
Previous English education recognized by the University of Alberta;
Complete the University of Alberta's Bridging Program.

The skills listed are not required, but are indicators that you are a good fit for the Program:
Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline such as physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or economics
Experience with analyzing datasets
Knowledge of linear algebra, probability, and statistics
Thorough knowledge of Python programming
Experience in other programming languages such as R, C++, Java, etc.
Experience with Discrete Optimization
Relevant work experience in financial management, banking, quantitative trading, algorithmic trading, data analytics, etc.
