Application Status

Helmut Veith Stipend for talented females was started to promote the vision of Helmut in Logic and Algorithms. The purpose of scholarship is to support women in tech and encourage more women to pursue STEM careers. The tech-industry is male-dominant field and this financial allowance is to assist more women to start career in STEM. 

Programs Offered 

Helmut Veith Stipend sponsors the following Master’s degree program offered by the Vienna University of Technology:

• Business Informatics

• Computer Engineering (Technische Informatik)

• Data Science

• Logic and Computation

• Media and Human-Centered Computing

Benefits 

Financial Assistance: Helmut Veith Stipend includes €7,000/year during the whole duration of Master’s degree. Allowance will be enough to cover cost of living in Austria, and other academic expenses.

Tuition fee will waive off for the students.

Eligibility 

Helmut Veith Stipend is only for female applicants who have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS)/Mathematics or equivalent field of study.

Candidates must be passionate and have extensive knowledge of the research areas offered by Helmut Veith’s Stipend Programs. An in-depth understanding of at least one of the following fields is highly appreciated:

• Logic in Computer Science 

• Algorithms and Complexity Theory

• Artificial Intelligence

• Computer Security 

• Formal Methods and Verification

Application Procedure 

The applicant must apply for two separate applications. Both applications can be submitted through online portal. First, you have to apply on the university portal for one of the degrees mentioned above in the list. Second application must be submitted on the portal of Helmut Veith Stipend. You will be eligible for the funding after getting accepted in the university and thus, both procedures are accessible side by side for the students.

• Academic Transcript

• Degree/Certificate of completion of Bachelor’s degree and other supporting documents including internship/work experience/projects etc. 

• Motivation Letter (It must clearly indicate your passion to pursue that particular degree, why do you need funding for it and how it will uplift you. Motivation letter gives you an edge to express yourself. You can freely highlight your abilities relevant to the program along with a glimpse of future work you want to accomplish by joining relevant research group). 

• Cover letter 

• English Language Certificate (Official test report or document indicating your degree in English-taught program).

• Two Referees details for recommendation (Qualification and email address) 

• Headshot photo

• Passport copy
