Application Status

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program is inviting applications from PhD students to join Canadian research institutes by providing them sufficient funding. This program been supporting ambitious students since 2008 continuously and the numbers keep increasing. More than 150 scholars receive the funding each year and join Canadian universities for their PhD work. As university nomination is crucial and thus, students should contact university administration as soon as possible for the acceptance before the deadline i.e., 30th October 2024. 

Programs Offered 

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships support International PhD students who wish to study in the Canadian Universities and start their research in any domains of 

• Health Research (CIHR) 

• Social Sciences and Humanities (SSHRC)

• Natural Sciences and Engineering (NSERC).

Eligibility 

Before starting application on online portal, check your eligibility as: 

• Check the scholarship quota of your selected university and number of available funding seats in your desired field of research so you may further connect with the potential supervisor depending on the available funding scholarship. 

• Eligible candidates must be nominated by the chosen university as their doctoral research students. For it, candidates have to seek for a Supervisor’s approval from that university. Nomination is crucial in application as Vanier CGS program does not deal with doctoral research work directly but assist candidates to avail the opportunity after getting acceptance.  

•  This scholarship is open to all International applicants. 

• Potential candidates must have excellent academic record, research potential to carry out innovative projects and leaderships skills. 

• Further Language and Course requirements vary by universities so check for chosen university before starting application.

After receiving Institutional Nomination and checking your eligibility with the given guidelines, prepare your documents and apply online through portal.
