This fellowship is designed to expose students to different ideologies regarding the view of the world and to learn from other participants coming from other Asian countries including Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri lanka, India and Pakistan. It would be a great experience for the participants to work together on projects, spend time and get to know each other with various perpectives.
This fellowship is a great opportunity for Pakistani students who want to work in Journalism as they can get experience of learning at the University of Westminster.
The Chevening South Asia Journalism scholarship is provided by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.
Purpose of Fellowship
This study program is a great opportunity for those who want to pursue independent journalism. This fellowship will broaden their thoughts and make them capable of doing freelance journalism in their own country.
A lot of Pakistanis have gained experience of joining this fellowship from versatile backgrounds such as documentary filmmaker, current affairs programmer, and public relations expert.
Students with degrees in various domains like social sciences, arts and humanities can apply for this fellowship freely. Eligibility for Chevening SAJP Fellowship

No, only Pakistani nationals are eligible for this fellowship.
If a Pakistani student is already studying in UK, can he apply for South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP) 2025-2026?
He is not eligible. Eligible candidate must be residing in his home country at the time of application.
Is postgradudate degree neceassry for applications?
If the apllicant holds extensive experience and training in the relevant fields, he is eligible without a post-graduate degree.
