The Forrest Research Foundation offers Scholarships to the International students getting enrolled in the PhD program of the following universities:

• The University of Western Australia 

• Curtin University 

• Edith Cowan University Murdoch University 

• Notre Dame University (Fremantle Campus)

• Murdoch University

This scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic achievement and awardees are known as Forrest Scholars. Forrest scholars are the brightest minds coming from all over the world and fostering a learning space to accelerate in their research career. The foundation aims to uplift the individuals who can be resourceful in future and have potential to create a positive impact in the world through their intellect, creativeness and exceptional qualities. 

Pakistani students graduated with high CGPA must apply for this scholarship. Those who have excellent academic record during their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for 4 years PhD program in their field of study and win this prestigious scholarship. This offers them a chance to not only study at the best universities of the world but also networking opportunities at a new place. 

Programs Offered 

The Forrest Research Foundation offers scholarships for all PhD enrolled students working on any subject.

Benefits 

The eligible candidates will receive the scholarship in the following forms:

• Monthly allowance of $29,863 – $35,000 as the Research Training Program Stipend will be granted,

• An accommodation allowance is provided to all Forest Scholars which is approximately about $21,447 per annum,

• Research expenses like attending conferences, publications, overseas tours and other travel cost will be covered by another stipend up to $12,000 given to scholars, 

• Immediate dependents (spouse, child etc.) will also be facilitated by airfare ticket (economy class) and two-bedroom apartment. 

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria to secure a Forrest Research Scholarship for domestic and International students include: 

Applicant must secure a PhD spot in the following universities

• The University of Western Australia 

• Curtin University 

• Edith Cowan University Murdoch University 

• Notre Dame University (Fremantle Campus) 

Only full-time students are eligible for the scholarship. 

The candidate is applying for a PhD program for the first time and has not been enrolled in the PhD before. 

For the academic record, more than 3.8/4 CGPA is required to be eligible. The CGPA criteria varies universities wise but only high achievers can avail the funded opportunity. The scholarship is more about achieving the academic excellence and thus maintaining a 3.9/4 or above CGPA is crucial for the Forest Scholars. 

Applicant must be resilient, committed to excellence and passionate about research work. 

A Forest scholar must acknowledge The Forest Foundation in his research work, publication, thesis or any other achievement he secures during the scholarship program. 

How to Apply 

The Forrest Research Foundation Scholarships website portal will open for submission of online applications from 15 Sep 2024. Potential applicants should prepare documents in advance to apply for it on time. Following documents are required to upload during application:

• An online application form with complete information,

• A detailed Curriculum Vitae highlighting personal achievements (research projects/internships/volunteer work/relevant publications), 

• Academic transcripts

• Contact details of four Referees (anyone from academia who can vouch for the applicant’s credibility and potential/supervisor/ colleague etc.). The admission committee will contact them if the potential applicant makes the interview stage.

When should I contact the potential supervisor?

If you are planning to apply for this scholarship, now is the right time to contact the relevant professor and discuss the supervision details. Soon the applications will start and you will not have much time left till the deadline. The selection committee will contact the proposed supervisor while shortlisting the candidate. Without any supervisor’s consent to supervise, you won’t be able to secure scholarship or admission in the university.  

If I successfully secure admission in any of the mentioned universities, will I be eligible for the scholarships automatically?
