Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) 2024 is a collaboration between the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR) and top Singaporean universities to allow international students to complete their research leading PhD in Singapore. This Singapore International graduate award 2024 is fully funded and is being offered under four study fields of sciences and engineering. SINGA Scholarship Coverage
SINGA 2024 is a fully funded PhD scholarship. The award supports PhD studies for up to 4 years. SINGA Award will cover a candidate’s tuition fee, living cost, will provide one-time airfare, one-time settling-in allowance and a monthly stipend till the end of the scholarship program.

Singapore International Graduate Award Eligibility Criteria

Only international students or non-Singaporeans are eligible to apply.

The applicants must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Candidates must have outstanding academic background.

The applicants must have good written and spoken English skills.

English Language Certificate is not required at this stage.

Candidates who have already completed tertiary education in Singapore are not eligible to apply.

Candidates who want to apply for the PhD programs other than Biomedical Sciences, Computing & Information Sciences, Engineering & Technology and Physical Sciences fields are not eligible to apply.

Singapore International Graduate Award Application Process
To apply for the SINGA 2024, candidates have to register themselves to the SINGA scholarship application portal.

Candidates have to visit the SINGA scholarship portal and have to press the “LOG IN” button under the heading “Login without SingPass”.

From the next page press the “Register Now” option and create your account by providing the requested details (select the citizenship type of Non-SC or Non-SPR).

After setting up your account, start filling out the “Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)” application form.

Submit the required documents.

Select the research project and supervisor.

Before you submit the application, check that the information you have entered on the online form is accurate.

After submission, Email will be sent to your referees

Ask your referees to submit the reference letters to your application portal before the deadline (1st June 2024).

A candidate can submit applications for more than one field but only have to accept one scholarship program.

Only shortlisted applicants will be notified via email within the 12 weeks after the application closing date.
Important Points To Consider While Applying For SINGA Scholarships

Provide the accurate information during account registration in the application portal as this information will be used for verification upon your first login.

After logging in, please verify that you are submitting the application for the correct scholarship, the "Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)"

Do not send any documents in hard copy to the SINGA Office.

Please send in your applications as soon as possible. This will give your referees ample time to submit their online recommendation reports prior to the application deadline.

Only applications with two recommendation reports will be considered. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Before submitting your application, double-check that the information you have entered on the online form is accurate. After the application has been submitted, the information cannot be changed.
1 - Is there any interview for the SIGNA Scholarship 2024?
Yes, a candidates have to go through a SIGNA Scholarship interview. Most of the time, SINGA interviews are conducted online using Zoom or Skype.
2 - Is it okay for me to work part-time in Singapore while I study for my PhD?
Because SINGA is a fully funded research scholarship, you can't work part-time while you study in Singapore.
3 - Is the SINGA award available to international students who have completed their bachelor's degree from Singapore or are currently pursuing their doctoral degree in Singapore?
No, SINGA award is not available for candidates who have done their bachelor's or master’s degree from Singapore or are currently enrolled in Singaporean universities.
4 - What is the SINGA selection criteria?
The applicant's academic record, publications, recommendations from academic referees, personal accomplishments, passion and ability to be proficient in research and an interview if shortlisted.
5 - Is there any age limit for the SINGA scholarship applicants?
For SINGA applicants, there is no age limit. Although young and mature applicants with relevant research experience are preferred.
6 - Can I apply for the SINGA scholarship if don’t have an English proficiency certificate?
Yes, you can apply for SINGA if you do not have IELTS / TOEFL or any other English proficiency test scores. But, be aware that the university may require you to submit satisfactory English proficiency test scores as part of the admissions process.
7 - Do I also have to apply through the university application portal, in addition to applying on the SINGA application portal?
Applicants for SINGA who have applied through the SINGA application portal are not required to apply through the university application portal.
8 - Do I need to submit a research proposal while submitting the SINGA scholarship application?
Yes, in your application form, you will need to write your research proposal and elaborate on the chosen research topic.
