Application Update

National Central University Taiwan has started accepting applications for the Spring 2025 class. NCU is a public university accommodating more than ten thousand students including thousand plus Internationals. 

University offers programs in various field of study with research degrees. For Pakistani students who wish to study and get experience of working in a foreign university, NCU is a great chance to move abroad as the application process is simple and no application fees is being charged. 

Research programs that are leading in industries such as High Energy & High Field Physics Research Program, Cognitive Intelligence & Precision Healthcare Research Program, Environmental Sustainability, Engineering degrees and many more are being offered. It is a great place for social science students as it provides great humanistic facilities. NCU campus comprising more than 1000 international students has 100+ student clubs for extracurricular activities.

Benefits

National Central University provides scholarships to International students for studying at NCU that includes

Tuition and credit fee waiver

Monthly stipend 

• Master Student - NT$6,000-NT$10,000/per month

• PhD student - NT$10,000-NT$15,000/per month

Benefits also depend on the student’s profile and department/institute he is applying to. 

For further financial assistance, International applicant may also apply for 5 more scholarships while studying in Taiwan.

Both Master's and PhD students can avail this scholarship with monthly stipend of NT$30,000.

Eligibility of NCU 2025 for Pakistani Students

A Bachelor's degree is required to apply for Master's program and a Master's degree is needed for the Doctoral applicant. 

Applicant must never has studied in Taiwan before or an overseas Chinese student.

Application Procedure for NCU Spring Admission

The application procedure is online and quite simple. Each applicant may apply to three programs at once during application. If the applicant receive acceptance for more than 1 program, he has to proceed with only one application further. Required Documents

Documents required for all degrees are following. However, some programs may not require some of it and some will demand in optional. 

• Attested all educational documents (Transcripts & Degrees) and verified by MOFA and Official Embassy of Taiwan 

• Official transcript must show grade descriptions, GPAs, and class rankings

• Autobiography (Personal Statement)

• Study Plan (Not required for some programs as for Degree in Mathematics)

• Research Proposal (Depends on Degree program)

• Two Letters of Recommendation

• Evidence of English Proficience

• Related Academic Publications (Optional in some programs)

• Diploma taken from home-country has no recognition/weightage in application

FAQs

If the scholarship stipend is not enough to cover my living costs, does university offer any financial assistance to cover my expenses?

Yes, five different kind of scholarships are availbale for International students MOE Taiwan Scholarship, MOFA Taiwan Scholarship, MOST Taiwan Scholarship, and Academia Sinica Taiwan International Graduate Program. Further details are provided in the Benefit section. 

Do graduate institutes offer scholarships independently to International Master's or PhD applicants irrespective of university scholarship?

Certain departments such as the Sustainability Leadership Master/Ph.D. Programs and a few others also offer scholarships where students can directly apply to their department in their field of interest only. 

Does university offer undergraduate scholarships to International applicants?

MOE Taiwan Scholarship and MOFA Taiwan Scholarship provides monthly stipend to the International applicants along with one direct round-trip economy-class ticket.
