Application Status

Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2024 is currently accepting applications and an excellent opportunity only for females studying in any HEC recognized university of Pakistan administrated by the British Council. Almost 2000 Pakistani women from financially disadvantage backgrounds have received the financial aid so far. This scholarship will cover their tuition fees and hostel charges (if applicable) throughout their degree program. Those who are currently enrolled in the relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s program must apply and get funding to complete their degree.

The scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate students studying in the following programs:

• Education

• Food Security & Agriculture 

• Sustainable Energy 

• Health Sciences including Public health, Biochemistry, Nutrition majors and more, excluding the medical sciences

• STEM fields but only for Master’s students

Eligibility

• This scholarship opportunity is only for Pakistani women.

• Applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan.

• She is pursuing a bachelor’s program or a Master’s degree in the above mentioned field of study. 

• The degree timeline must not be long than 4 years if enrolled in undergraduate program and must not exceed than 2 years if studying in Master’s program. 

• She holds admission in any HEC-recognized university of Pakistan and can provide latest certificate of enrollment. 

• Women from underprivileged backgrounds/minorities/with disabilities are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. 

How to Apply 

Applications are being accepted through online portal. In case of any missing documents, application will be discarded. Scan the following documents and make a single pdf of all. The file size containing documents must not be greater than 15 MB. The required documents are as follows:

• Identification card copy of student and guardian/parents (CNIC/B-form)

• Salary slip of the person (parents/guardian) supporting the student

• If parent/guardian has retired, pension slip should be attached

• Any documentation proof of showing parent/guardian occupation

• Results of the most recent qualification

• Certificate of enrollment issued by the university administration (University must be HEC-recognized)

• Copy of full degree program fee structure and hostel charges (if living in hostel) issued by the respective university (as this amount will be covered by the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships)

• For medically unfit candidates, proof of disability is required, issued by the Social Welfare Department 

• Personal Statement of maximum 1000 words is necessary to be applicable for winning the scholarship as it will indicate your motivation for higher education and why you need a scholarship to support your education. It must also mention about your goals you wish to achieve after completing education.

How to know if my university is HEC recognized? 

You can check though official site of The Higher Education Commission (HEC) either your university is HEC recognized or not.

How to provide proof of admission?

Proof of admission can be provided in the form of Certificate of Enrollment. University issues the official certificate or Proof of Enrollment on application and it proves that you are currently enrolled in a degree program there. 

Is this scholarship requiring IELTS?

As this scholarship is to facilitate Pakistani women coming from financially disadvantageous background and are currently enrolled in Pakistani university, thus does not require IELTS certificate. 

I am applying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree but have not received results from the university. May I apply for this scholarship before enrollment?

Yes, if you are applying right now and will receive admission letter within a few months, you should apply. In case, you become eligible for securing scholarship, they will issue a Conditional Offer confirming that you will start receiving scholarship after you submit certified of enrollment. 

Is the PhD candidate eligible for this scholarship?

No, this scholarship is only for undergraduate and master’s students.

When will the eligible candidates start receiving financial aid?

The higher possibility is by the end of December or in the start of January. Timeline is flexible but it won’t be delayed than that.
