CATS Fellowships 2025/2026
CATS offers fellowships for the funding period 2025/2026. We welcome applications on topics in a variety of areas, ranging from political and social dynamics within Turkey to the country’s position in the European and transatlantic system and its surrounding regions.

Criteria:
To be eligible, you must be an international (visa) student who has applied for admission to an undergraduate program in Waterloo's Faculty of Science. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement, the impact a scholarship will have on your studies, and what motivates you to become a scientist.
Scholarships are awarded only after a student has received an offer of admission to a Faculty of Science program.
The renewable scholarships are dependent on maintaining an 80% overall cumulative average each term.


At Maple International College of Secondary Studies, our approach is to make education accessible for international students. Through this scholarship, we want to acknowledge the calibre of the incoming students. Scholarship awards will take some burden away from the parents and guardians of the incoming students.
Selection Process
Our esteemed panel of educators and administrators will carefully review each application based on academic achievements, the quality of the essay, and alignment with the applicant's future goals.
Must be an international student
Must be enrolled in the OSSD or University Pathway Program
Minimum admission average of 80%.
Submission of a completed application form.
Submission of a thoughtfully crafted essay outlining their future academic and career goals.
Completion of the admission information form.


Faculties will nominate eligible students based on the Faculty’s award allocation. Students will be selected based on academic excellence as demonstrated through their application for admission to the graduate program.
Eligibility
International students who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees.
Normally given to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
Will normally only be given to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
Students must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.
Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements.
Normally, students should not be concurrently receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the Faculty minimum levels of support.

Scholarship that Requires Application
President’s International Distinction Scholarship: Up to CAD$120,000 for outstanding international students with strong leadership skills.
A Chan Pang Kuen Memorial International Distinction Scholarship: Up to CAD$120,000 for international students with exceptional academic merit and leadership qualities.
International Leader Scholarship: Up to CAD$15,000 for well-rounded international students with strong academic and leadership profiles.
May Quon Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to CAD$100,000 for Chinese or Hong Kong students with strong academics, financial need, and a student visa.
Cora Martinson International Scholarship: Up to CAD$56,000 for international students with strong academic and financial needs, entering Augustana Faculty.
University of Alberta Global Citizen Scholarship for IB Diploma International Students: Up to CAD$53,000 per year for exceptional IB Diploma students from Aga Khan Academies with financial need and leadership skills.
