Benefits of the SK Global Scholarship
Successful applicants will get the following benefits:
- Full Tuition Coverage - The entire tuition price (7,392,000 KRW per semester) for up to four semesters is paid.
- Living Allowance - A hefty monthly payment of 1,500,000 KRW to meet daily expenses.
- Flight Reimbursement - Up to 3,000,000 KRW for round-trip flight.
- Entrance charge Coverage - The initial entrance charge is 1,142,000 KRW.
- Medical insurance - Korea University provides standard medical coverage
- Korean Language Training - If necessary, the scholarship will cover one month of language training before the semester begins.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Nationality - You must be a citizen of one of the 32 eligible nations. Both parents must be non-Korean citizens.
- Academic background - A bachelor's degree or similar level is necessary.
- Language fluency - Applicants must present proof of fluency in English or Korean using one of the following methods:
- TOEFL IBT (71+)
- IELTS (5.5 plus)
- CEFR (B2 +)
- New TEPS (326+)
- Topik (Level 3+)
- Applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree in English are excluded.

The KAIST ITTP Scholarship is sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT, African Development, and other foreign governments. This is a customized scholarship to transfer advanced technologies and business strategies from Korea to the global IT leaders of the next generation. This program aims to build a global network of IT Leaders around the world.
Duration of Scholarship
All students will receive scholarships for up to 2 years for master’s and up to 3 years for doctorate students.
Eligibility
Applicants from any country can apply.
Meet the academic requirements for admission to a Master’s or Doctoral program at KAIST.
The scholarship is open to government officials, public institution employees, or senior researchers at national research centers working in IT-related fields in developing countries.
Employees from private institutions cannot apply.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an IT-related field is required.

Benefits of the KAIST University Scholarship
Total Tuition Fee Exemption for 4 semesters for Master’s degree candidates, 10 for Master’s-Ph.D. integrated degree candidates and 8 semesters for Ph.D. degree candidates.

GIST
The GIST scholars are equipped with world-class knowledge and skills regarding science and technology through research-oriented projects and courses. Furthermore, GIST’s fully-funded scholarship is a project of the university with the South Korean Ministry of Science and Technology.
Benefits of the GIST Scholarship in South Korea:
PhD students will be given a monthly stipend of 295,000 Won.
Both MS and PhD students will be given a meal allowance of 100,000 Won. (Note: Students have to complete at least 9 credits in the previous semester in order to get student and meal allowance).
An international student allowance of 120,000 Won will be given to both MS and PhD students, however, the student has to maintain a 3 or higher GPA out of 4.5 in the previous semester.
Eligibility Criteria of the GIST Scholarship 2023 in South Korea:
The applicant must or expect to hold a final degree before enrollment at GIST.
The applicant’s bachelor’s degree must be equivalent to a Korean bachelor’s degree.
The applicant must be an international student.
The applicant must be proficient in the English language.
