Schedule of the 17th International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna
The International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna is Austria’s oldest international piano competition and ranks among the most renowned music competitions today. Founded more than 60 years ago, it is hosted by the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Announcement of the pre-selection results. The pre-selected candidates will be invited to send in recordings for the Video Round according to our requirements.
The International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna is Austria’s oldest international piano competition and ranks among the most renowned music competitions today. The competition is open to young pianists in any classical piano repertoire.
Admissible Criteria:
Must be a young pianist of any nationality.
Must adhere to the repertoire requirements specified by the competition.
Selection Process:
If the number of eligible applications exceeds the scholarships available, ranking will be based on grade point average and, if necessary, ECTS credit points or completed semester hours.
Notification:
Applicants will be informed of the decision in writing. There is no legal entitlement to the award.
Benefits
Scholarships range from EUR 750 to EUR 3,600, awarded under private sector administration by the Dean of Students, independent of the social need of the applicant.
