Scholarship Benefits
The Deakin Warrnambool Residential International Scholarship pays 50% of your on-campus housing expenses, which equals to around $4,000 to $4,500 each year. This financial respite enables you to concentrate more on your education while worrying less about expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, you must:
- As a foreign student, begin your studies at Deakin Warrnambool.
- Enroll in any of the following undergraduate courses:
- Bachelor of Education (primary)
- Bachelor of Marine Science.
- Bachelor of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery
- Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Psychological Science
- Reside on campus at Deakin Residences Warrnambool.
- Have a course duration of two to four years.
- You will not be getting any other Deakin scholarships or bursaries.

The Deakin Warrnambool Residential International Scholarship is now accepting applications. To be considered for this bursary for studies beginning in Trimester 1, 2026, please submit your course application before the trimester begins.

University of Sunderland in London
The University of Sunderland in London, located near the Canary Wharf financial district, is a base we’re proud of having in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. As well as professionally-focused courses in Business, Finance and Tourism, we also offer health-related programmes, including Nursing, Health and Social Care. The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the University of Sunderland or York St John University.
Undergraduate Applicants:
For foundation programs: WAEC (or equivalent) with no lower than a B grade.
For Year 1 entry: A-Levels, IB, or WAEC with no lower than a B grade, plus one year of HND or Year 1 Bachelor’s completion.


The study program is open to applicants must be international students currently residing in Australia, intending to start the Master of Research (MRes) program at Macquarie University in July 2025.
Availability
Awards will only be available to applicants who, at the time of application:
are not an Australian/New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident
are onshore in Australia at the time of application
intend to reside in Sydney, Australia during their candidature
plan to undertake a Master of Research in July 2025 (S2 2025)
are enrolling as full-time students
meet the English language requirements for Macquarie graduate research degrees
meet the admission criteria for the Master of Research (refer to schedule 2.3)
have confirmation of supervision from an eligible Macquarie University researcher (compulsory for FMHHS and desirable for the other faculties)


The scholarship application is not yet open, pending approval. Interested candidates are encouraged to review tips for creating a great application to prepare for the process.
Eligibility
An international student in accordance with the University’s Fee Policy in the year of the award;
Enrolled full-time in an Approved Program in the year of the award; and
A resident at International House in the year of the award.
Selection criteria
The Scholarship is awarded to the student showing the greatest merit based on –
Academic achievement; and
Any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant to the applicant’s future success in their studies.


Both International and Domestic students can apply for the RTP Scholarship at Deakin University to pursue Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs through Masters, and PhD. The scholarship is open to all nationals.
Benefits of the Scholarship
A stipend of $34,400 per annum tax exempt (2024 rate)
A relocation allowance from $500 to $1,500 (for single to family).
Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa.
