Are you passionate about global sustainability, leadership, and having an influence in the Indo-Pacific region? The Indo-Pacific Futures Fellowship (IPFF) 2025/26 provides fully financed opportunities for emerging leaders to participate in transformative experiences in the United States and New Zealand. The East-West Center, in cooperation with the Doris Duke Foundation, organized this fellowship to address key concerns such as food security, energy sustainability, and governance.
What is the Indo-Pacific Futures Fellowship?
The IPFF is a leadership development program that aims to provide professionals with the knowledge, skills, and global network they need to tackle critical challenges in the Indo-Pacific. Fellows will work together on solutions that promote economic and environmental sustainability while assuring consistent access to critical resources.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Indo-Pacific Futures Fellowship 2025/26, applicants must:
- Have 5-10 years of professional leadership experience in related sectors such as government, food and energy systems, or advocacy.
- Show a significant interest in sustainability and leadership.
- Be competent in English (official exam scores are preferred but not required).
- Hold a valid passport till the end of 2026.
- Commit to taking part in all program activities, including travel and virtual sessions.
Program Timeline
The IPFF 2025/26 adheres to a set timeline:
- Pre-Residency Virtual Sessions: October 13–26, 2025
- Honolulu, Hawai‘i Residency: October 27–November 7, 2025
- Virtual Sessions: November 8, 2025–May 24, 2026
- Wellington, New Zealand Residency: May 25–31, 2026
