Chief Minister Merit Scholarships (CMMS) 2025: PhD Scholarships for Global Education | PEEF

The Chief Minister Merit Scholarships (CMMS) are offered by the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) to encourage academic excellence and global research contributions. These fully financed scholarships allow scholars from Punjab and other federating units of Pakistan to pursue PhD studies at top-tier international universities.

Key Features of CMMS Scholarships

• Fully Funded Support: CMMS scholarships cover all tuition, boarding and accommodation costs (per institution rules), and other obligatory academic fees. ​
• Targeted Universities: Scholarships are available for PhD programs at universities ranked in the top 50 globally in various subject areas, according to QS World University Rankings.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CMMS scholarships, applicants must:

• Academic Admission: Obtain a valid PhD admission offer from one of the top 50 QS-ranked universities in your preferred subject area.
• Age limit is 35 years as of April 30, 2025. ​
• Family Income: Declare a monthly income of Rs. 200,000 or less for yourself, your spouse, and parents.
• Residency: Must be a resident of Punjab or other federating units, like as Azad Kashmir, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, or Islamabad Capital Territory.

Scholarship Coverage

PhD scholarships given by the CMMS are fully supported and cover the following costs:

• 100% Tuition fees
• Boarding and Lodging (as per approved rates)
• Health Insurance
• Airfare

Discipline Wise Allocation of Scholarships

• 80% of scholarships are earmarked for scientific disciplines.
• 20% of scholarships are earmarked for Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts

• Prepare Documentation: Gather all relevant documentation, such as academic transcripts, a PhD admission letter, proof of family income, and other required forms. ​
• Complete the Application Form: Fill out the CMMS application form completely and precisely, making sure all information is up to current.
• Submit Application: Send the completed application form and all supporting documentation to the PEEF office by the stipulated deadline.
