PhD Research Opportunities In Biomedical Engineering

Objectives:

  • Research on neural stimulation, hearing impairment, and the development of micro pump technology using advanced biomedical engineering experiments and animal models.

  • Focused on the creation of neural wiring diagrams, or connectomes, at the nanoscale resolution and the early development of neural circuits.

  • The Jiang Lab's research is centered on the discovery and development of radically novel optical-based imaging technologies for the macroscopic and microscopic visualization of tissue in vivo.

  • Discover how animals and humans see, then use that information to design devices for disease detection and vision research.

Doctoral Research Opportunities In Civil And Environmental Engineering

Talented and motivated graduate students who want to learn more and advance the fields of electrochemical and corrosion engineering can apply for positions in the Corrosion Engineering Laboratory.

Who Are Eligible To Apply For Civil Engineering PhD Research Program

  • A master's or bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, civil engineering, or a related field.

  • Students with prior experience in materials characterization, electrochemical analysis techniques, multi physics finite element modeling analysis, and/or a basic understanding of metal corrosion will be given preference.

The University of South Florida (USF) Functional Materials and Manufacturing Institute cluster, which is housed in the USF Research Park, is home to the Nanomechanics, Nanomaterials, and Nano Manufacturing Laboratory. There are several fully-funded Ph.D. student positions available in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, Electrical, Materials, and Medical Engineering as well as Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria To Apply For Research Opportunity

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in any major or field, including but not limited to mechanical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering mechanics/physics, materials science, physics, etc., is required for this position.

  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience with experimental research in the fields of molecular biology, DNA/RNA/protein sequencing, cell culture, electrochemistry, metrology, microscopy, spectroscopy, surface science, circuit design, vacuum/plasma instrumentation, spectroscopy, and surface science.
