Studying in Malaysia can be a viable option for Pakistani students, offering a range of academic programs and diverse cultural experiences. Malaysia has a variety of universities and colleges offering programs in fields such as engineering, business, medicine, and more. Students are allowed to work part-time during their studies in Malaysia. Recently Malaysian government has made changes in immigration policies, one most important of them is having Malaysian Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) for international students travelling to Malaysia.
What Is The Purpose Of MDAC Requirement
The Malaysian government has declared that international students must finish the MDAC three days prior to their arrival in the Malaysia as of January 1, 2024. The digital arrival card was first introduced in January 2023 for holders of Singaporean passports, but as of January, 2024 all visitors entering Malaysia must have one.
This implementation is intended to draw in foreign visitors and increase revenue.
To Whom MDAC Requirement Is Implemented?
Following international students must have to complete the MDAC requirement

Students having visa approval letter and travelling to Malaysia to pursue their course

Students having social visit pass and are going to start a short course program (less than 3 months) in Malaysian institute
Exemption From MDAC
Following international students are exempted from MDAC requirement

Who having Singapore nationality

Diplomatic passport holders

Permanent residents of Malaysia

Having general certificate of identity of Brunei Darussalam

Thailand border pass holders

Who have Indonesia cross border travel document

Existing students who have been issued a student pass are exempted to complete the MDAC requirement.
How To Download MDAC Before Traveling To Malaysia
International students can complete their MDAC online through the immigration department website. It can be completed 3 days before arrival to Malaysia. Students have to show it on entry points of immigration clearance.
