1 -   Zombie Apocalypse Scholarships
 
In this, students are asked to consider how they would survive if they were to be a Zombie Apocalypse. In case you don’t know what a Zombie Apocalypse:
 
“It is a catastrophe when people after dying keep coming back to life and starts eating alive things, and whomever they bite also turns like them, they know no relation, only thing they understand is the hunger of human flesh”, says Usama Ahmed Awan an Article Writer, Teacher and Educational Journalist and Counselor, and yep that’s me.
 
Students who think they can tackle a strong survival strategy should not wait to apply. The winner of the scholarship competition receives $2,000 to cover the cost of attending a university or college that is located in the United States.
 
Here’s the case scenario students are asked draw a plot on:
 
“Imagine that your high school or college has been overrun with zombies. Your math professor, the cafeteria ladies, and even your best friend have all joined the walking dead. Flesh out a plan to avoid the zombies, including where you’d hide and the top-five things you’d bring to stay alive.”
 
 

 
2 -   Tall Clubs International Scholarship
 
Like they have already not been blessed enough now this Tall Clubs International Scholarship is for freshmen students who are above average height. The required merit is that you should be at least 5’10" tall for women and at least 6’2" for men.
They grant an award amount of $1,000 each student but you must not be over 21 years of age. In order to apply, you must contact your Tall Club International Member. You must be under the age of 21 and entering your first year of college in order to qualify for this award.
 
 

 
3 -   Clowns of America International Scholarship
 
It is not very common practice in Pakistan but in developed English countries like USA, every kid’s party is incomplete without a clown. I guess some guy had a sympathy attack for theses jokers that he initiated a whole scholarship scheme for them.
 
The Clowns of America International (COAI) Scholarship is available to students enrolled in family entertainment educational programs that run for a minimum of ten hours. To apply you must have passed high school and you have to be registered member of COAI for at least one year in order to be considered for this 5 year award whose amount varies.

4 -   Mycological Society of America Graduate Research Prize
 
Mycology is the study of Fungi. Apparently, there not much fungi lovers in this world, weird right, I mean who wouldn’t love Fungi? So, in order to attract students in this field, The Mycological Society of America Graduate Research Prizes offers 4 scholarship grants of $100 to their registered student members. Other than this, two $2,000 MSA Graduate Scholarships are awarded, along with one $500 Backus Award for outperforming students.
 
A competition is held and reward is granted to one who presents the best research papers or posters in mycology. You must be a student member of this society and be a M.Sc. or Ph.D. candidate to be eligible for this award. The society website MSAfungi.org provides more information.
 
 

 
5 -    American Welding Society Scholarships
 
To get back at so called educated people who always called labors like welders “Illiterate”, this foundation offers numerous scholarships for students who are enrolled in a training or educational program related to welding. Their amount of grants varies depending on funding and students. You can learn more about this at their website AWS.org.
 
 

 
6 -   Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Scholarship
 
We all really like to listen and watch horror stories, have you ever tried writing one or you think you have the insight to write one? This is $2,500 scholarship that is awarded to a female who belongs to the Horror Writers Association.
 
If you are interested, you will need to submit four horror writing samples and a short statement about why do you deserve this grant. To learn more about their Award go their website Horror.org.
 
 

 
7 - The Icy Frost Bridge Scholarship
 
This award is intended for music students at DePauw University who are female, and who can play or sing the US national anthem. I guess you now need to memorize American Anthem, after all they are the one granting you.

8 -   John Gatling Grant Program
 
People usually have use father’s name as their last name. This guy John Gatling, I don’t know what he had in his mind but he started this scholarship on a very weird merit. You are eligible for this award if your last name is either Gatling or Gatlin.
 
This is a scholarship grant program at North Carolina State University. Grants range from $9,000 to $18,000. You can get more information on NCSU website FinancialAid.ncsu.edu. So, you ready to change your name yet?
 
 

 
9 -   American Society for Enology and Viticulture Scholarship
 
Oenology is the study of wines and Viticulture is the production and study of Grapes. Several scholarships are awarded each year for students who study winemaking or grapes. You must study a degree in viticulture or enology, or other science degree that is relevant to winemaking. The amount this scholarship varies each year.
 
Now, all you have to do is just find a drug dealer, make friends with him, learn about the illegal producers of Alcohol, since it is illegal in Pakistan; make friends with Alcohol producers, learn their formula and whole procedure of winemaking and then if you are not killed or in jail; you are good to go and totally perfect for this scholarship.  Learn more about this scholarship at their website ASEV.org.

10 -    Writers of the Future Scholarship
 
You are required to have an alien mind and into that sci-fi stories like Star Wars. This scholarship awards $1,000, $750, $500, and an annual grand prize of $5,000.
