There are some universities who despite even not being top ranked in general category, are considered the best and dominant leaders of their especial courses. It is recommended to all students to first research on the field of study they wish to pursue as their career and find the educational institutes best for that subject.

6 - University of Exeter:

University of Exeter located in Exeter, England; was founded in 1955. University of Exeter has four campuses located

two in the city of Exeter and two in Cornwall. It is ranked 126^th best university of the world by Times Higher Education for 2017. THE also gave it a score of 87.6 for international outlook. This university is structured in six academic colleges. They have more female students than males with a ratio of 55:45 and 27% of its students are international.

Of its total English students of 910, last year 95% of Bristol students attained the top two honors. It is currently the 6th best educational institute for English language courses of United Kingdom. It also offers the largest English degree courses. Its English department is heavily staffed as there is one member of staff available for every 17 students.

5 - Durham University

Durham University is currently ranked 73^rd best higher educational institute of the world by QS Ranking. There are over 16,500 including 4, 500 international students enrolled in this university of which 77% are undergraduate students and 23% are studying postgraduate. Durham University also claims to be third oldest university of United Kingdom. It was founded in 1832. It has two campuses located in the city of Durham, England.

Of its total English students of 500, last year 96% of Durham’s students accomplished the 1^st and upper 2^nd class degrees that make it the fifth best university for English courses in United Kingdom.

4 - University of York

University of York is currently ranked 129^th best higher educational institute of the world Times Higher Education. It was founded in 1963 with just 230 students and today it’s a large, one of the best institute with over 16,000 students enrolled in its thirty departments. It is situated in the city of York, England. Its structure is divided between the academic departments and 16 colleges. They have an academic staff of 1700 to educate their students.
