Must be an international student 

Must be enrolled in the OSSD or University Pathway Program

Minimum admission average of 80%.

 Faculties will nominate eligible students based on the Faculty’s award allocation. Students will be selected based on academic excellence as demonstrated through their application for admission to the graduate program.

Eligibility 

International students who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees. 

Normally given to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper). 

Will normally only be given to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).

Students must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.

Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements. 

Normally, students should not be concurrently receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the Faculty minimum levels of support.  

This Scholarship in Canada is open to international students from all around the world. The York University International Scholarships are available to start academic studies in Fall 2025. Most scholarships are given Automatically which means No separate application is required for the Scholarship.

Admissions Assessment

Admission to the University is assessed based on a holistic approach. Prospective students are generally expected to have a good academic record in addition to satisfying the subject prerequisites for the programmes they are applying to. Besides academic grades, other factors such as the applicant’s interests, prior preparation, and aptitude for the chosen undergraduate degree programme can be used to admit the applicant. Interview/tests are required for specific undergraduate degree programmes, including Architecture, Dentistry, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Law, Medicine, Music, Nursing and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE).

Benefits

The scholarship offers $5,000 toward the tuition of international students for their first year of study. The award is divided equally between Term 1 and Term 2 tuition fees.
