OIST Research Internship Program Description
The OIST Graduate School offers education and research opportunities through our Research Internship program in STEM fields. The internship is typically 3 to 6 months. These short-term placements give students the opportunity to gain experience in a particular laboratory or to learn a specific technique. Research Interns will work under the direction of a Professor and contribute to the research activities of OIST.
Support
The following supports are only available for the research intern and do not extend to dependents, family members, or others.

The Duration of the internship is 5 Weeks. Participants will arrive and work in Aichi, Japan. The Internship will take place from June 23rd to July 31st, 2025. Undergraduate study programmes offered at Saitama University can be applied for.

The applicants must be enrolled in a university-authorized athletic club.


So, OIST Japanese Internship applicants from any country with any nationality can apply. The duration of the internship is between 2 and 6 months, Normally 10 to 12 weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
Students can be from any country. There is no nationality restriction.
No need for any IELTS or TOEFL Test.
Students who are enrolled in a Graduate Degree program can apply.
Students who are enrolled in an Undergraduate Degree program can also apply.
Students who are recently graduated can also apply.


MEXT
Applicants can apply for the MEXT Undergraduate Scholarship as well as MEXT Masters and PhD scholarships. MEXT Scholarship is available in all Fields in almost 90% of Japanese Universities and available in English Programs.
Eligibility Criteria for MEXT Scholarship 2024
Bachelors Students: Must have completed a secondary education if applying for an Undergraduate program.
Master Students: Must have completed an Undergraduate program if applying to a Master’s.
Ph.D. Students: Applicants with a master’s degree are eligible to apply for Doctoral Degree programs.
IELTS is not required.
